One of the most beautiful things about starting a new year is its ability to give us all a sense of hope and new beginnings.
Having gone through the most in the past two years I was looking eagerly forward to a new start. But truth be told the order of days doesn’t change unless we do. Cliche yes, but true. I believe we can only bring change to ourselves when we decide it’s time for change. There is not much that new days, weeks and years can bring us. If we do not decide, that they do. I am a firm believer that God created a completely capable being in man and gave such power to rule, dominate and multiply all within our decisions, the words we speak and the words we believe.
I have no doubt that deciding on what we harvest from the ‘new year’ very much depends on what we decide to plant. There is no harvest without planting. Genesis 8:22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” So, you see somethings are placed by God to never change, only we are given the capability to change and adapt to grow and be wise. Everything on this earth is a respecter of time yet we seem to want to leave things to chance and let things be with little thought that everything happens best in its appointed time. Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” Only you can decide what this year is for and how you aim to account for it.
You can still do better and restart your life. I saw a theme somewhere that said “no life is beyond repair” I believe you are capable of a much better life than the one you live. It just lies decisions away. I often say I don’t do new year’s resolutions because they are not sustainable, but I can make new choices and make decisions and commit to working on my new path. Remember no one can grant you breakthroughs you don’t believe you deserve.
- The best you lives better with people around her/him. The best you is relatable and kind. The best you is not afraid to fail and start over. The best you loves with no conditions, the best you prays. So, you see working on you is not selfishness, but it is making sure that you are happy and loving to yourself that others can’t resist to do the same and you can’t resist to do to others. Mark 12:31 – “The second most important command is this: Love your neighbour the same as you love yourself.” So, you see it all starts from you.
- Make decisions that respect the order of seed and harvest time. This will clear your mind. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
- Commit Commit Commit if I had more ink, I would say it again Commit. Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” this scripture does not apply to you only doing for others but also to you doing good for yourself.
